Don’t Launch Your Funnel Without These 5 Things…

FACT: your landing page can make or break your conversions. You could have the best ad strategy in the world, but if your landing page isn’t “up to snuff”, your potential customers will click away instead of signing up or buying.

Luckily, there are a few tried-and-true components you can include in your next landing page to make sure your page is designed to convert visitors into leads and sales.

  1. Open With A Clear, Benefit-Driven Headline

Your headline is one of the first things visitors see when they land on your page, and it has just a few seconds to grab attention and make them stay. If it’s boring, confusing or vague, they’ll bounce.

How to get it right:
Make it crystal clear what you’re promising.
✔ Focus on the biggest benefit (not just what the offer is, but what it does for them).
✔ Keep it short and easy to read - the last thing you want is word soup at the top of your page overwhelming (and deterring) traffic before they even know what they’re there for!

For example… Instead of “Get Our Signature Coaching Program”, lead with something like “Get More Clients Without Wasting Money on Ads”

TIP: Read your headline out loud—does it instantly make sense to someone unfamiliar with your offer?

2. A Single, Clear Path Forward

Your landing page should have one goal and one goal only—whether that’s getting opt-ins, selling a product, or booking calls… avoid the temptation to bundle multiple options into one page!

How to get it right:
✔ Remove navigation bars, external links, and unnecessary “additional program options” - anything that could distract from the goal and prevent them from taking the desired action of that page
✔ Guide visitors toward one clear action and make it abundantly clear what you’re asking them to do
✔ Keep the page clean and focused - remember that sometimes less is more

Though it may seem counterintuitive, we don’t give visitors too many choices - it creates confusion and lowers conversions.

ANALYSIS: If someone lands on your page for 5 seconds, can they instantly tell what to do next?

3. Add a Call-To-Action & Button Above the Fold

If your visitor has to scroll to find your call to action (CTA), you’ve already lost potential conversions.

How to get it right:
✔ Place your CTA above the fold (visible immediately without scrolling)
✔ Make your button text action-driven (e.g., “Get My Free Guide” instead of “Submit”)
✔ Use contrasting colors to make your CTA button pop—it should stand out, not blend in… I often choose a color that is ONLY used for buttons and will not appear anywhere else on the page to ensure it’s easy to find

Remember… If someone has to search for what you want them to do, your conversion rates will suffer.

REVIEW: BE SURE your CTA be seen immediately without scrolling on desktop and mobile.

4. Focus on Benefits, Not Just Features

People don’t care about what your offer is - they care about what it does for them. Your copy should highlight the outcome and transformation they’ll experience.

How to get it right:
✔ Use the "So That" Rule to bring forward the benefits they’ll experience (learn more about the “So That” Rule here)
✔ Make it about them - the most powerful word in copywriting is “you”
✔ Use bullet points to make benefits easy to scan

Example: Instead of saying “6-week group coaching program” (what it is)...
Try saying “Get personalized support and a proven roadmap to grow your business” (what it does for them).

GOAL: Your page should answer “what’s in it for me” in the first few sentences.

5. Social Proof & Trust Signals

People are more likely to take action when they see proof that others have gotten results. Think about when you’re looking for a product on Amazon… I, for one, always check the reviews before deciding on which one I want to purchase. It works the same on your landing page.

How to get it right:
Include testimonials or case studies - real results build trust
Showcase Trust badges - secure checkout, money-back guarantees, media mentions
Video testimonials if possible, video is one of the most impactful ways to share a customer testimonial. Seeing real people boosts credibility tremendously

HACK: If you don’t have testimonials yet, use data points (ex. “Over 5,000 downloads” or “Used by entrepreneurs in 20+ countries”).
